Optometrists
An Optometrist is qualified to examine eyes, test for , fit contact lenses and spectacles.
Our experienced Optometrists work between the three branches. They are:
Mr Robert A. Stokeld (Director)
BSc (Hons) MCOptom.
Robert qualified in 1981 and has spent all his professional life in private practice. He is interested in all aspects of practice, but has a special interest in the use of coloured filters for people with dyslexia. He is currently an active member of Tees Local Optical Commmittee, and is a past Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer of the North Yorkshire & South Durham Association of Optometrists.
Mr Matt Booker (Director)
BSc (Hons) MCOptom MBCLA
Matt has been part of the Henderson Opticians team since graduating from University. He qualified in 2010 and is also a member of the British Contact Lens Association.
Miss Karen Knowles
BSc (Hons) MCOptom Prof Cert Med Ret
Karen grew up in the area and qualified as an Optometrist in 2002. She enjoys working in the independent sector, and has worked at Henderson Opticians since early 2013.
All of our Optometrists and our Dispensing Optician undertake regular training and refresher courses to ensure their knowledge is up to date.
Dispensing Optician
Dispensing Opticians are professionally trained with a high level of technical knowledge of spectacle frame and lens designs and materials .
Mrs Paula Taylor
Paula is a fully qualified Dispensing Optician with many years of experience. She is working in all three branches on a rota basis supporting the rest of the practice staff.
